Kimoshiro is a startup, conceived in 2020 by Abian Laginestra. After 25 years of experience in the IT market and 15 years in information security, seeing a market lacking in consulting in the area due to the price and size of organizations, he created Kimoshiro to meet the demand.
Kimoshiro comes from kimoshiri, an adjective that means joyful in the Ashaninka language: the people who are “Mountain Salt” and the family origin of the founder of Kimoshiro. The Ashaninkas are a people who, despite being fierce and warriors, have deep humanistic values. A people that survived the Incas, the Spaniards and, today, resists the devastation of their lands.
The mountain in the logo symbolizes resistance. It is the home of Pachamama (or Pacha Mama) – the supreme deity of various indigenous cultures of the peoples of the central Andes. The name comes from the indigenous Quechua language: Pacha (universe, world, time, place) and Mama (mother, Mother Earth), the goddess related to earth, time, life.
The black color in the visual identity comes from the genipap, a fruit from which the Indians extract the pulp and mix it with charcoal from burnt tree bark to produce black body paint. Painting is often related to rituals, and is also an important part of culture: women spend hours painting each other and the men of the tribe in rich detail, as a way of beautifying and protecting through symbols.
Red comes from annatto, a fruit traditionally used by Brazilian and Peruvian indigenous people as raw material for red dyes, used for various purposes – including protecting the skin against the sun and insect bites. There is also the symbolism of thanksgiving to the gods for the harvest, fishing or health of the people. Over time, the skin takes on a definitive reddish hue. The small annatto tree produces beautiful flowers and attractive fruits.
We are a purpose of building something new and smart in Cybersecurity. Our goal is to embed Data Privacy and Security at every step of the IT operation – delivering personalized services and a complete team. Kimoshiro wants generate value to the image of customers in the digital society, maintaining Information Security, operation resiliency and data privacy.

Keeping a responsible work and connected with the environment is one of the foundations of Kimoshiro. As a digital company, we avoid the use of paper in printed materials – which reduces consumption and waste of paper and supplies. Every gesture matters!
